Numerical investigation on the Thermal-hydraulic performance of the modified channel supercritical CO2 printed circuit heat exchanger

Printed circuit heat exchangers (PCHE) are designed to improve recovery and energy saving in supercritical CO2 (S-CO2) power cycles. In the current study, a modified channel PCHE is proposed based on regular straight zigzag channel. The thermal–hydraulic performance of four different types numerically investigated methods verified by both experimental numerical results. results presented for Reynolds number inlet conditions between 5 000 25 000. From results, local pressure loss transfer coefficients analyzed discussed. Subsequently, global Nusselt Fanning friction It found that inserted section contributes uniform flow, resulted significant reduction with slight decrease transfer. can reduce coefficient 33.1%-84.7% while about 3.6%-30.3%. This leads maximum evaluation criterion (PEC) enhancement 45.9%.
